Summer camp 2025 is meticulously designed to ignite imagination, build confidence and foster self-expression. A wide range of classes are offered, which include improvisation, acting techniques, movement and dance for the stage, vocal coaching and singing, creative writing, an introduction to behind-the-scenes work, and artistic use of social and broadcast media. We will also have inspirational guest speakers.
Camp runs 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday from July 14-July 25 at Clayton Early Learning, (Administrative Bldg.), 3801 Martin Luther King Blvd., in Denver. The program’s grand finale performance is on July 25 at 6 p.m.
Colorado Matters co-host Chandra Thomas Whitfield toured The Museum for Black Girls with students from our 2024 Summer Camp. The museum honors the accomplishments, resilience and “magic’’ of Black women around the world and inspires new generations.
Amirrah Graham, Sade Houston, and London Dawson, from left, students from this summer’s Opening Act Theatre Camp in Denver, ham it up for the camera while visiting the Museum for Black Girls, July 9, 2024.
